You might have seen the quirky TV and press adverts for the UK eggcard - the
distinctive green credit card from egg bank plc. Did you know that egg was originally
set up by Prudential, one of the leading insurance and finance companies in the UK?
The eggcard comes with the offer of 0% rates, with upto 14 months for balance transfers and
upto 3 months for purchases. Typical 16.9% APR variable. For each balance transfer there is
a 3.0% handling fee.
Not only can you transfer other credit card balances to your eggcard you can also transfer other personal debt balances from store cards and even from loans and even an overdraught balance on your current bank account. You can transfer balances that your second cardholder has elsewhere.
You can manage your account online, or on Egg TV on Sky digital, where you can see recent and past transactions and print off statements too. You'll receive an email from egg when your current statement has been prepared for you.
The card is available as a Visa card and dependant upon your income and credit history good credit limits are available. Other card providers offer platinum credit cards with good maximum credit limits. You can apply for a second card holder too. Customers also get a 10% discount on household and travel insurance. So you can get a quote from Egg to see how much you could save on your insurance, just for having a card. For those of you who already have an eggcard and you have a balance to transfer we list other leading brand credit cards like the Virgin Card, that we feel compare well with your current card.
